Stories From The Blue Chair
Canterbury Children’s Theatre have presented smaller-scale ‘cushion’ productions since 1989, with up to three cushion shows a year. It was the dream of Life Member Peggy Grant, and has been a place for many young actors, stage crew and directors to try their hand.
Cushion shows are less than an hour long, and are presented in an intimate environment where the audience are inches away from the action. They are especially aimed at younger children, but audiences of all ages will find the shows entertaining and delightful.
Our most recent cushion shows have all been written specifically for our stage by local playwrights and members of the Society, ensuring that both new stories and time-honoured favourites are presented in a way that is fresh and relevant.
